Working on a horror novel except when I get distracted by a short story idea
I plan on self publishing my first book next year and I’m not publishing on Amazon/Kindle.

Does that mean way less people will buy or even see my book. Yeah, but fuck Amazon/Kindle.

I have a job. Writing is a hobby for me and I don’t want to support Amazon/Kindle

Days like today are the reasons I’m happy I moved to Maine

When I was writing my first book I had a pretty good idea of where the story would start and end. 🫎Writing this second book I had an opening scene and haven’t had any idea where the story would go after like 10,000 words. Now I’m over 50,000. Still no idea what the ending is and having a blast! 🌲🦞🚢

Writing my second novel and was a little unsure of where I wanted the second act to go. I had ideas but they lacked connective tissue and memorable images. All I needed was a quiet boat ride and an hour to myself and boom figured that shit out right quick

Writers I have a question for you all!
I’m writing a funeral scene and I want to know.. what are some of your least favorite funeral scene tropes. 🪦⚰️🥀

Writing a book about a small town and I LOVE writing the town eccentric. Is it cliche? Oh 100%. Is it fun? absolutely! I need an old lady who is a little weird goblin of a person. 📼

Already very ready for the weekend so I can watch horror movies and write a book about a fucked up little town

I finished writing my first ever novel a little while back. Then came the editing process and that was good. The third edit took the longest by far but lots got added and even more was cut out. Now it’s been sent to some close friends and I hope they like it. 🫎

28 years later kicks so much ass! I fucking love it!
Really cool use of the starry night sky in this and life of Chuck. Two for two in a category I didn’t even know I wanted

When you are editing your book and your partner goes, “IDK you could add some more details to how this guy gets killed.”
I love my life 🫎

Trying to write and edit a book while having a full time job has been a challenge. Finding time and motivation for editing has been the tallest hurtle to jump for sure. 🫎

Working on the second draft of my first ever novel. I’m having fun going back to it after a self imposed break.
Rediscovering word choices and baffled I didn’t return to a minor character I basically abandoned.
He gets to talk more now!
Overall still having a blast playing writer!

Just finished the first draft for my first ever novel. What a strange but fulfilling feeling. Time to not think about it for two weeks then edit the hell out of it. 🫎

Stop buying things on Amazon. Shop at locally owned stores. Hunt for books and movies and records at stores. It is more fun to find a book you have wanted to read or album you want to collect if you actually have to work for it.

Congrats to The Substance. A good goopy movie full of goop and goodness. One of my favorites from last year.

I feel like A Complete Unknown should have won… something. I’m not sure in what category. I know it’s the popular option to hate biopics but this one was particularly well acted.

In one year’s time I will be complaining that The Monkey didn’t win best adapted screenplay and best makeup.

I’m gonna say it Nosferatu was snubbed for best costumes.
