I just can’t shake the general worry that actually being able to read in a disciplinary-specific way is a result of knowing lots about the particular subject rather than something you can teach beforehand…

This year my school is focusing on disciplinary literacy (from the EEF guidance).

I’ve been reviewing the literature and found lots of interesting theory - but I can’t find any evidence that it actually *works*. Anyone know of any good intervention studies?! Or have any general opinions on it?!
