After spinning her magnificent egg sac filled with hundreds of spiderlings, this yellow garden spider (Argiope aurantia) has reached the end of her journey. So long, beautiful lady. Thanks for choosing my garden and allowing me to observe.

I know everyone in the South loathes lovebug season. While they are a nuisance to drivers due to their tendency to splatter on car windshields and damage paint, they also play a beneficial role by enriching soil as larvae and pollinating plants as adults.
