To witness Minnesota
Pen writes resistance

Today, the 81st anniversary of Auschwitz's liberation, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, when the last survivors are asking us to "become my witness," I answer yes. Past shadows prowl in Minnesota.

Today we remember the Holocaust, not as distant history, but as a warning.

It was made possible by propaganda, scapegoating, and the acceptance of injustice.
By institutions not resisting.

We must remain vigilant — especially when familiar patterns begin to reappear.

Never again. Hold the Line.

Today is the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Holocaust Remembrance Day. One of the great honors of my life was bearing witness to the stories of the survivors.
