We had a power brown out, and it just scrambled the display. The powercycle fixed it.

It was shipped with a keyboard in the same box. The monitor was just sitting on the keyboard. During shipping, the monitor had no chance as the uneven base resulted in cracks, and then the rest of the damage occurred.
