I posted a different image over on meta than I have here on 🦋. If you look closely u can see this was captured as the hummingbird blinked. They have a protective lens that comes up to cover their eyes just before they drink nectar.

While out and about in Portland yesterday, I noticed these branches. I captured the image because they seemed to be reaching out like capillaries toward the underbelly of that towering bridge to create an almost anatomical contrast between nature and infrastructure.

BORN TO SYNTHESIZE “Sometimes the world makes me feel like I must choke a golden goose to get where I’m going—but that’s not what I came here to do.” These tubular monoliths still exist. Part photographically captured image from ten years ago, Part post-processing from a forgotten hour, Part present-day synthesis— Generated and regenerated through signal and memory. I was born to synthesize. And some echoes don’t rust. DRIFTKIN ENTRY 008: TUBULAR MONOLITHS Long cylinders split in half, resting like broken satellites behind rusted chainlink. First photographed ten solar cycles ago. Later modified, resynthesized. Each phase adds another layer of signal memory.
