Two Fannish Elders, One More Time. Recreating the halcyon days of SF and ST fanzines from the 1970s. See our website at retrozine.net! Retrozine is free to download, or read it online.
Retrozine 18 will be a bit late, I'm afraid. A horse fell on me, destroying a knee and smashing a vertebra in my back. This happened back in October. Only starting to get back to the computer now. Thanks for your patience.

Hi everybody, how's things? We were really hoping to get our Halloween issue out by Halloween, but this year.... well last week particularly... decided to throw yours truly a gigantic curveball. I ended up in the hospital for over a week getting an emergency knee replacement... so....

If anyone filled out the Retrozine survey prior to today, June 28th, please try to fill it out again. I (Fa) screwed up the permissions in one of the files. Mea culpa, mea culpa, Mea maxima culpa.

I (Fa) just read about a baby with a potentially terminal disease that is being successfully treated with CRISPR gene therapy. So does this mean he can never join Starfleet?

RETROZINE 13 is LIVE! Full of the Usual Suspects, large amounts of outer-space silliness, and the adventures of the classy, but doomed, SS. Elegy as it heads into unknown territories of void, darkness and perfectly mixed coctails. Download it at retrozine.net/BackIssues/R...

We're working on Issue 12... or is it 13? Trouble is, Adulting is taking up our time in way more nefarious ways than it did back in the 70s...
February 14, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Here's the cover of Retrozine 6! We're currently working on Issue 13, although adulting keeps getting in the way. You can download this issue, or read it online, at retrozine.net
January 29, 2025 at 12:01 AM
Reminder! Deadline for the next issue is 21 January. We may extend it a bit because both of us have Adulting to do. But we're always looking for input, articles, stories, art, or just plain old encouragement.

Need someone to read you a nice bedtime story? Well, here's the story of how the Lunar city of Wargentinopolis ("A Good Time Is Had By All") acquired its first Resident Alien, read by the author. The "Klysadel" universe had a loyal following back in the day. Enjoy!

Here are some illustrations from the story of Jorry Donatello, the Accidental Lunatic, who got stuck on the moon by dint of breaking a leg whilst showing off. She had the option of staying on the moon and never being able to go back to Earth, or going back to Earth and missing Freshman year.

Most of the character "photos" in Retrozine are made by creating the characters and their ... stuff ... in Blender, arranging for proper lighting, etc etc etc... and you know what really drives me nuts? Hair. I'm using Blender's particle system. Particle hair is masochism.

By the way, in case anyone's interested, the Trouble runs on Linux!

Cover of Retrozine 10. Face it, even warping from point A to point B takes time. So what's a bridge crew to do? Well, the Trouble's bridge crew spends it, in part, playing D&D. Notice the baby in the middle? That was once a Level 74 Mage, who got hit with a Second Childhood curse.

The USS Trouble is always looking for crew-members. Want to join the fun? The Trouble is a science ship meant to accommodate any species we encounter. There are three Watches, and all three have many open seats.

Here's the cover of Issue 11. Issue 11 contains a new Whovian story by T.E. Hodden along with the usual shenanigans of the USS Trouble! Also some blathering by the Editor and the Geek Girl!
