Anecdotally, from people I know, it has seemed that finding a job after losing one has gotten hard. The hard data now back that up.

Yesterday Trump paused some Trump-imposed tariffs, & we saw Trump supporters react to the big up day in stocks by crowing about Trump’s “brilliant strategy.”

Today the market began to digest forecasts of reduced corporate sales/earnings due to Trump tariffs, & stocks dropped.

Trump owns Truth Social. Trump “truthed” before announcing the 90 day pause in some tariffs that “now is a great time to buy.” DJT (Truth Social) was up 21.67% today, with majority owner Trump getting a $1B gain in 1 day.

Trump controls the agencies that would enforce the laws governing this.

As Americans brace for massive losses in their retirement savings tomorrow, most will take little comfort in Trump’s claims that his massive & sudden tariffs are a “beautiful thing.”

Some will though, because they’ll believe him, right up until they join the rolls of the unemployed.

The world order Trump is dismantling …

The U.S. economy outperformed or was more stable than its global peers since 1949, in terms of wealth, innovation, & global influence. While countries like China have seen faster recent growth, the U.S. lead in per capita wealth and technological leadership.
