Not sure how often I'll post. Still trying to improve.
Weird, it looks like they blocked me, not sure why when they were liking my posts and agreeing with me in responses...

I will vote in the primary. That's the whole point. If he wins the primary, I'm not voting past that. It wont matter at that point.

If Newsome is the candidate we're getting a Republican either way. It genuinely doesn't matter at that point
January 30, 2026 at 3:47 AM
Okay. Newsome isn't that.
January 30, 2026 at 1:36 AM
Even if I wanted to settle for good enough, if Newsome becomes the Dem candidate in 2028, I'm not voting. He's not even good enough. He doesn't clear the lowest possible bar.

Because that control over Congress REALLY matters.

Then again the dems are fucking worthless, so maybe it doesn't actually matter in the end.

and also isn't just lying (I know, basically impossible), but 1 more dem seat would tilt the power balance in congress, I'd rather vote for that less moral dem.

Or if there's an independent that I i really like but they have no shot at winning, I feel like i need to be strategic.

I'm of multiple minds about this. For locals, absolutely, that's easy. But when we get to national elections, the number of party members that get into congress matter a lot for who actually has control.
In the off chance there's somehow a Republican that is more moral than the dem

Ive had it a couple of times when work has had free "cheeseburger pizza". Honestly, not for me. The pickles just kind of overpower everything and that's all I can taste.

Glad you enjoy it, though.

Democrat senators love giving in. It's their favorite activity. I can't think of anything they love doing more than capitulating to Republicans

Regulated? Not far enough. Banned. It should be banned, the creators arrested and the servers stripped for parts.

Oh God I remember trying mastadon. Opened it once and immediately closed it. Cannot believe people thought that would take off as a Twitter killer

I just want you to know that this is the 5th different named Linux version I have been recommended as the "simple" version. This is part of the problem.
January 21, 2026 at 10:08 PM
I remember a few places when I was a teenager, you did have to get something when you first sat down but after that we could hang out for 4-6 hours straight without anyone bothering us. Maybe I just got lucky. I've also heard other people express similar sentiments so I thought it was more universal
January 21, 2026 at 8:22 PM
But like I said it all depends.
I legit could not tell you where the closest bar is to me. Maybe downtown, 40 min away by car? Definitely nowhere near me. When I want to hang out with friends, we're usually doing it at someone's house, or online.
January 21, 2026 at 8:16 PM
Now, you might find a place like that, but most places will want you to leave so they can fill your seat with a new customer with new money.
January 21, 2026 at 8:13 PM
3rd places largely started disappearing in the last few decades because if you're not paying, they want you out. Time was you could sit in a diner or restaurant or cafe all day and just talk with your friends.
January 21, 2026 at 8:13 PM
Theoretically, though it varies a lot depending on where you are and how much money you have.
Bars are good third places, unless you're broke or don't drink. Granted you may have access to a cool bar that doesn't get mad at you for not buying anything, it just depends.
January 21, 2026 at 8:13 PM
I'm not sure when 3rd place began being used in common parlance, but I would guess that work is considered the 2nd place because most people only have 2 places. Home and work. Ergo work would be the 2nd place out of 2, and a 3rd place is something most people don't have but should.
January 21, 2026 at 8:01 PM
Same. My friends keep trying to assure me it's basically at that level, and then the second they say anything else about it my eyes glaze over.

If I ask "how do I install this" and the answer starts with "it depends" the system is too complicated.

My laziness is what's prevented me from moving fully to Linux.

That and because I feel like I'd be trading one annoyance for another.
January 21, 2026 at 7:22 PM
I disabled it on my work PC the first time I saw a pop up. Dropped everything to turn that shit off.

Sadly now my work is forcing everyone in the company to attend an hour long, in person, AI workshop to "improve efficiency"
