Passionate about preaching, parenting and pancakes. Happiest when helping people meet and serve Jesus.
Feeling so blessed by our church family, who come with delicious hot food night after night, plus gifts and love and prayers.

Especially blown away by the wonderful woman who brought dinner AND a new play set for Libby tonight.

We are being loved so well.

My three year old has gone to sleep wearing a princess tiara, cuddling her huge plastic T Rex, after asking me to teach her the 8 times table.

She is so gloriously herself.

It’s a fancy one for #clergymaltclub for me, courtesy of my big brother. It’s been tough going this week, but midnight communion made it all worth it.

Christ is here.

One last day off before the big push.

Cheering on anyone else battling to keep illness and exhaustion (and in this case, grief) at bay before a marathon of celebrations!

My tiny girl uses “speaking of which” perfectly appropriately to segue into a related topic of conversation, and it utterly charms me.

These are the details of parenting that no one else will find remarkable but mum would have absolutely loved.

We’ve had the most incredible Nativity Funday, with about 400 people through the building exploring the story of Jesus’ birth. Crafts, bouncy castle, Minecraft, a puppet show, treasure hunt and practically limitless tea and cake.

Praying for the fruit of faith in Jesus to flourish.

The town carols (which I was supposed to be MCing) & lights switch on was cancelled for weather. So we’ve been Christmas present crafting in front of the fire.

Is it even Advent yet #CofEpeeps?

I win! Chips disappeared along with three boiled eggs and a mountain of peas. I guess I’ll start buying clothes in the next size up…

There’s a bet in our house as to whether the 3yo will eat the skin-on chips I’m making tonight. If she does, I get to pick the TV programme later.

What can I sprinkle on them to guarantee success?!

Very pleased to be back in my old stomping ground to preach last night. The choir was sounding beautiful and the hospitality generous.

There seems to be a flurry of activity over here. Have we all given up on Twitter? Here’s a nice walk we had today.

This is how I know my toddler is mine. That pea.

We’re having a bonus summer weekend before we move. Yesterday, a glorious beach picnic and paddle. Today, extended family piling over for a barbecue, all the cousins playing in the garden like it’s June.

A blessing before we leave this place.

Last couple of writing days for now, as I finish up a project that's kept me busy for a while.

With parish ministry on the horizon, the new pattern won't include the few hours a week of freelance writing time which have been both a challenge and a gift for the last year!

Checking the toddler’s bookshelf for library books, and discovered that Julia Donaldson has branched out into theology.
