About a future. In 2024. That was eerily like our own. Butler knew how to read the trajectory of history.

Also, with apologies to my dear friends, but when I address confirmed members of said church, I will be punctuating my sentences with “ya muppet” from now on.

So, the Church of Scotland just restored the Scots’ Confession to status in their new Book of Confessions.

I’m strangely comfortable with it. 🤣

Agreed. I’m way too reformational to think I have that much ability to practice virtue

I’m a barbarian grade layman in physics but from what little I know, there are physicists who would agree with this, in that all time is a single point occurring simultaneously. Applying your insight, that point is God. Entering Creation. Christ is the Lord of History and we experience it in Him.

Man, the year I turned 16 (2005) saw some of the worst of pop, country, rock, Christian contemporary and indie genres. Hip hop was oversaturated and I’m not at all qualified to speak on the metal albums in the list. But we’ve spent most of the past 20 years hearing these as background on tv, etc

Blessings on your ministry and may the glory of Christ’s service in and through you so far outshine the shadow, that he not be visible to anyone, including yourself.

Wow. A real life Buckingham.

"That high All-Seer which I dallied with
Hath turn'd my feigned prayer on my head
And given in earnest what I begg'd in jest.
...
Come, lead me, officers, to the block of shame;
Wrong hath but wrong, and blame the due of blame." (Richard III, V.1)

My family has ham for three feasts—Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving
November 24, 2025 at 5:32 AM
If for Easter, for every resurrection thanks meal.
November 24, 2025 at 5:31 AM
That’s because you haven’t had Ketter ham. Otherwise you’d repent and ditch the bird.

Not unlike how I feel about being Appalachian. A fundamental sense of freedom, with an intense disquiet and resistance to demands of any power not rooted in our hills and valleys.

It just gets dicey because there is no formal delineation of archiepiscopal responsibility essential to his role as president of the college of bishops vs. those pertaining to his role as president of the assembly vs. primus inter pares and representative among other provinces.
