To my siblings in Christ, and especially to my fellow pastors, if your Sunday liturgy does not contain some form of unequivocal condemnation of ICE murders, you’ve ceased to be the Church and have become at best a social club and at worst a Volksgemeinschaft.

When Christian theologians reflect on “Law and Order” it’s usually the Order part (specifically Right Order) that’s emphasized. What happened in MN is evil, even satanic chaos-a desperate yet still deadly show of force that’s not even wolves in sheep’s clothing, but rather asses in lions’ skins.

Armed violations of sovereignty can be a morally viable action, even if legally questionable-e.g, India in East Pakistan in 1971. Maduro is a dictator, but it seems we went in with no plan to engage the stakeholders among the Venezuelan people who can safeguard a moral & democratic transition.
