Jesus never ignored the lived reality of those he encountered. The church must learn first to be present with people in their lived realities before it can discern how God is at work in their lives.

The institutional church's future lies not in reclaiming past, but discerning God’s future. That discernment requires engaging with the very culture the church has spent decades demonizing. Let’s meet God the neighborhood, engaging culture, and joining in what God's already up to there.

Bad leaders make you believe that they alone can accomplish something. Good leaders make you believe that you can accomplish it!
