Okanagan College announced it won’t renew its lease at the Revelstoke learning centre after +20 years leasing the space from School District 19. OC will continue programming on site until end of June & is seeking space in town to instead rent out going forward 🏫

The Revelstoke Review was in for quite the tropical surprise earlier this January when staff arrived one Monday to find a mischief-maker had used a coconut to smash the newspaper cash box & steal about $5. RCMP described the incident as unique & “hard-pressed” 🥥

A backcountry skier didn’t slide far but had to be retrieved by their group after a wind slab buried them just shy of the Asulkan Cabin on Jan. 10 in Rogers Pass. No injuries were reported 😶‍🌫️

Last winter, a driver tried more than once to pass through Rogers Pass while it was closed for avalanche control. This winter, they learned the consequences of that decision in full as the courts landed them a $4,500 fine & 2-year national park ban 🚷
