There’s reason to believe that this time, the Trump administration might give in to pressure to institute sweeping national restrictions. slate.trib.al/D7j3y4r
Trump Might Have Just Signaled a Momentous Change on Abortion
There was a clear political logic to Trump’s previous position.

Since a near-total ban went into effect, tens of thousands of Texans have left the state to access abortion. Here’s how they do it. https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/texas-woman-seeking-legal-abortion/

New on Substack:

"The abrupt ending of its work [is an] artifact of collapse, not gossip, not petty disagreements, but proof of a movement eating itself alive. The reproductive justice industry has become a stage where betrayal, gatekeeping, and moral theater have replaced freedom."

I'm honored that Bekah McNeel from @texasmonthly.bsky.social chose to tell this story. This work isn’t just about travel, it’s about reimagining care and community in a post-Roe world. It's about shaking up the reproductive rights movement with new, innovative ideas.

Exactly! Abortion access isn’t just about getting someone to a clinic. It’s about how we treat the people who do this work and uphold our own values.
So many 'progressive' orgs behave like this and it sucks. People work here because they believe the work is important and they get treated like garbage while their employers talk a big public game about how great they are.
The Board of @apiaryps.bsky.social just surprise-fired their entire staff (amazing, dedicated folks) and put the organization on "pause" because the Board hated that the staff demanded they live up to actual RJ values. I saw this firsthand working with Apiary. I'm disgusted but not surprised.

The @apiaryps Board choosing to fire their whole staff for demanding RJ values is a betrayal of the movement.

This is what I have been talking about. We have leaders in this movement who do not actually care about the work and are concerned with personal growth and power.

I am interested in interviewing women that have been f-over by women in the reproductive movement. We won't have to name any names. Besides there are so many it would not be possible. #reproductivejustice?

On this last day of the year I am spending every ounce of energy I have to get ready for next year. There are so many women that need help getting out of Texas to get to abortion care. You can help make a big ass difference.
