Rachel, Obviously please don't answer this on an open forum. Please make sure that you have an adequate security detail for yourself and your family. Thank you for what you are doing. It is so impt. We can't afford to have your work jeopardized. Please stay safe.

@maddow.msnbc.com Want to place any bets on where Herr Drumpf's 1st overseas trip will be? I'm betting Russia, so he can kneel down and kiss Putin's ....... um ......... ring (?)

@maddow.msnbc.com I think that you mentioned the coercion of GOP Senators on your show. I believe you are right. Between threats to their own health and their families and playoffs from Musk, even reasonable and responsible Sens like Susan Rice have caved. Keep up the good fight! Thank you!

If you are not fighting for our country, in any way, right now, you are of no use to the country that has taken care of you. The country, that while imperfect, continues to attempt a better world. NOW DO SOMETHING! Call! Write! RISE UP, DAMN YOU!

The purge at the FBI includes analysts too! They have been left out of every report. These are the people who support the agents by doing research.

@liturgygeek.bsky.social Dear Elizabeth, Would you be willing to add me to the UCC list? I'm retired after 25 years in ministry. Working on my doctoral degree. Researching the interrelationship of trust & resistance to change. Trying to fight the good fight from MD. Many blessings!

@amytan.bsky.social Amy, I'm thinking of you. I don't know where in California you are, but I hope that you are safe from the wildfires that have brought so much destruction. Over been saving your backyard bird book, which one of my daughters gave me for Xmas, for hard days. Today is one of those.

I don't watch the news or politics on TV. I get it all thru relatively neutral press sources - or at least I know the skew ahead of time. The news that is coming daily makes me want to weep (or to take a drink, and I haven't done that since 1990.) God help us. We've fallen thru the looking glass.

@amytan.bsky.social Dear Amy, One of my daughters sent me your Backyard Bird Chronicles. I am enjoying it so much! On page 130, you talk about finding biology experiments in your fridge. I think that you'd enjoy Patrick Stewart describing a veg oops in his 1st apartment! (In his bio.)

I think Hell is freezing over! This is the 2nd time I've agreed with George Will on something other than baseball!

In a very real way, the Congress is all that is standing between we the people and authoritarianism. They need to be reminded: Future historians are watching. History is being written as we speak.

Things about which to write to your senators and congresspersons:
1) A president is elected to lead ALL US citizens, even the ones that didn't vote for him.
2)Senators are supposed to be a guiding and mitigating force with regard to the President. The President nominated, but the Senate confirms.
November 20, 2024 at 4:45 AM
Is it too much to hope that the Senate will either 1) remember why they are elected, 2) remember the checks and balances of the Constitution, 3) be so power addicted, or 4) actually grow a working spine that they refuse to yield to El Cheetoh's bypass of the Senate's right to approval of nominees?

Where would you like me to post info and resources for emergency preparedness and up to date info on Thoreau's answer to troublesome government. I can put them here, or I can invite anyone interested to a Discord group.

QUESTION:
Is there a way to receive only posts from those whom I'm following?

If anyone is interested, I can post a picture of my bookshelf of related titles.

Hey there!

Before I write this next message, I want to assure you all that I am not a "prepper." I am simply interested in being ready for emergencies. I've always imagined that these would most likely be weather related and not the melt-down of civil order.
