Kylo shakes his head, his hair tickling her cheekbones. “You do,” he insists. “You always have. You deserve kindness, and happiness, and l—”
Rey surges up and covers his mouth with her own, very much not ready to hear that word. He kisses her back as though he’s been stumbling through the desert and she’s an oasis, shade and life-giving water he’ll fall to his knees in gratitude for.
He’s also very, very hard against her thigh.
