There are some days when Rey doesn't talk. People around the base have learned that it's best to avoid her when she's in one of these moods. Even Finn only sticks around long enough to squeeze her shoulder, a quiet grounding. She knows it's odd, but she's stopped caring. When the yawning void in her heart becomes too much to bear, it's this ritual that helps her overcome. She doesn't meditate, she just sits. Waiting. Waiting for him, in the beginning. For any sign that he's still alive. Now she waits for this hollow feeling to pass, dulling it to a level she can tolerate. Today she sits, as she's done a hundred times before, staring out into the lush greenery.
