(10/?) LOOM: This is a transitional album in my opinion. I’m not sure what they’re transitioning *too* but this one is in the date of Origins and Evolve, half of it is forgettable pop, and half of it is this weird blend time periods and experimentation. I’m interested to see what comes next /thread

(9/?) and takes you on a roller coaster exposing all of his insecurities about where their music is taking them and how they’ve gotten to this point.

(8/?) I mean I can go on and on about this project but for the first time since S+M every song sounds unique but there’s a clear through line that ID is taking you through in this musical journey. The album is raw-

(7/?) Mercury Acts 1+2: My personal favorite project from ID. These two discs contain probably 7 of their top 10 songs for me; Enemy, My Life, Dull Knives, No Time for Toxic People, Sharks, I don’t like myself, Crushed, I’m happy.

(6/?) Origins: the best ID album if you’re actively listening to it. If you’re not, you’ve forgotten it even exists. But when you’re listening to it Origins completely wraps itself around your earlobes and doesn’t let up. West Coast is easily my favorite with Birds and Natural also being standouts

(5/?) Evolve: Honestly my least favorite album, mostly due to the repetitiveness of certain tracks, Believer, and Thunder for example. The other songs that aren’t overplayed are nice, with Dancing in the Dark being my favorite on this not-so-great album

(4/?) especially on songs like Polaroid, Hopeless Opus, and the albums namesake.

(3/?) Smoke and Mirrors: This is where ID have perfected the indie rock sound they started cultivating on Night Visions, and each song flows smoothly and completely to the next. The overarching theme of the album is consistent and clear, and the vision is executed beautifully-

(2/?) Night Visions: A great debut album, has some rough patches but the formula for that classic early ID sound is definitely there. Demons and Radioactive are standouts obviously, with Hear Me, and Round and Round as lesser known favorites of mine

I’m sorry, please don’t take this the wrong way, but these are NOT weird takes LMAO. These are standard fare takes. Fallout, morrowind, even bio shock to an extent are genre defining games that everyone can appreciate to some extent imo

The entire soundtrack for that show makes me feel like I need a cigarette and whiskey just to enjoy it properly
