#yegbike Some pics of ongoing work along Manning Drive.
A new crosswalk is being added at Manning and 142 avenue. Will connect the the new trail to Clairview station. New trail along Manning, north of 137 avenue. New trail along Manning. Looking south/west towards 139 avenue. Mew trail on Manning near Miller blvd/142 avenue. Not quite done here.

Another chunk of the manning/fort road trail between 144 avenue to 50th street is paved, except for the intersections. They also have most of the sidewalks from Manning to Clairview station ripped out and gravel down for a new shared trail. Lots of new curb ramps under construction too.

Why are you pushing so hard for a shorter field? Do you like all the changes or just that one?

New trail just dropped. Manning south of 153 avenue. The intersection at Miller Crossing is still a mess though. #yegbike
Freshly paved asphalt trail in Edmonton Alberta.

I don’t have an issue with the rental ones because they have speed governing, but I often see private ones going 50-60 km/hr. Last year I saw a woman on an electric unicycle just flying down the trail between commonwealth and downtown, with no helmet. People are getting hurt on these things.

I find little bar end mirrors to be pretty much useless. I have to shoulder check anyway.

Your bike has a reverse?
rfie.bsky.social
Is that the one with the extremely narrow sidewalks?

Ok, that’s good. Cartmell put out some pamphlet about a “blue ribbon panel” to review everything and also create dashboards to track everything. I’m like F off, they want to bring in a bunch of cronies who do nothing and make some charts. Great plan./s I’d be reluctant to vote for him.

If the bikelanes go nowhere then the roads they are next to must also go nowhere. But if they’re talking about bike lanes that just suddenly end, yes those ones go nowhere. I didn’t watch the debate. Did any candidate express support for bike infrastructure?

So here’s a picture of the nice new path on 50th street bordering Hollick Kenyon. I had to run to shoppers this morning to pick up some mosquito repellent and ibuprofen and I didn’t need to take an air polluting 2000 lbs vehicle to do it. Yay! #yegbike #bikesky
A beautiful new shared use path in Northeast Edmonton.

Just trying to highlight a few good things I see, but there’s still a long way to go before I would declare Northeast YEG an active transportation paradise. If I posted missing links, inadequate, hostile and dangerous infrastructure around here there would be a lot more in my feed, unfortunately.

Sleep is another one. So lame.

Who’s the higher authority that can make that call? Phone them. Make them come down for a meeting.

Okay well now we have a reason for the city to amend that. There something wrong. Close it down until the building maintenance people get it under control. 33 is hot yoga temperature.

That guy in the blue shirt is a crybaby whiner. I swear he almost cried in the video posted by global. 5 seconds away from bawling and snot bubbles. Absolutely pathetic.
rfie.bsky.social
Does anyone check this garbage before it goes live?
rfie.bsky.social
The amount of media coverage these whiners get is way too much. Also the transportation minister should change his title to the car parking minister.

One more Northeast Edmonton pedestrian/bike/mobility improvement for now. This sidewalk in York used to have a set of stairs in the middle. Now it does not. #yegbike.
A new gently sloped sidewalk in Northeast Edmonton. #yegbike.

More bike and shared infrastructure progress in the Northeast. A couple more blocks of the 132 ave bike lane is completed west of 66 street. New sidewalk to shared trail conversion on the east side of 66th street between 137 ave and 149 ave is nearly complete.
New bike lane on 132 avenue west of 66 street. New shared trail on 66th street north of 137 avenue.

We got a small pedestrian/rolling improvement at the intersection of 66th street and 137 ave. See the old style curb ramp on the west side that puts you into the intersection vs new ones on the east side that aim you into the crosswalk. #yegbike

I don’t want Harris in the game anymore. Give Maier a chance to complete the comeback against his former team. That last was too much. #CFL

They just repaved McLeod road in Cassleman as well as 58th street in York and made no improvements to the infrastructure. Definitely a missed opportunity.
