Complete honesty here, I had to look up this title to see what it meant. Once I did, the story appeared to me like a magic eye poster. Read “Tiddalik" by Michael McStay and let the image shimmy into your mind as well. 89th edition! Right here!

Learning where you come from can be humbling or empowering or all sorts of things at the same time. "Hearty Stock" by Kelli Short Borges @kelliborges2.bsky.social is a wonderful flash exploring these ideas from the POV of a 5-yr old girl who just might be wiser than all of them! Look for it 9/28!

Olivia has seen pictures of the men. Pictures in the big brown book on the glass coffee table at Opa’s house, along with lots of letters that made words underneath them, words she can’t read because she’s only five and in kindergarten and just learning her ABCs.

I haven't traveled by plane in ages. And while this work of flash from Daniel Birch did make me laugh, it did not make me want to run right out and book a flight to anywhere! This is "Gate to be Announced Shortly" and it's live on Sunday!
