📚 Had to post this a lot on the other platform lately and apparently, it blows people's mind that this is possible. I wrote it over 2 years ago, and callback refs will only get better in v19 because they will get cleanup functions. Have a read:

My toxic trait is I will do just about anything to make certain there's no flash of changed content between when the document loads and the JavaScript executes.
And it drives me insane when I see other sites that don't care about that as much as I do.

Tanstack query is awesome for fetching and caching data.

But, it's broader than that. It's an *async state* library.

Example: Here's a custom React Query hook for checking if a device's camera or audio input is available.
