Taxpayers across the country have reported receiving scam text messages falsely claiming to be from tax agencies.

Text messages are phishing for sensitive financial information by requesting "accurate payment information" so that supposed funds can be deposited into a bank account.
Text reads: Scam Alert. Text messages are phishing for sensitive financial information by requesting "accurate payment information" so that supposed funds can be deposited into a bank account.
