A 12-foot statue of two sex offenders joyfully holding hands appeared on the National Mall in Washington DC this week.

The sculpture depicts two figures grasping hands and smiling. A plaque at the bottom explains the artwork was erected: "in honor of friendship month."

There are still many vivid memories of Jerome joyously dancing at the EndUp, and of his beautifully subversive art.

Although the version created by one of his students, Artemesia Gentileschi, is far more bad ass and much more believable. Carvaggio's Judith looks a bit like a weak and confused waif who could barely carve a turkey, much less actually be capable of severing the head of an Assyrian General.
