Sure, but let’s say he has 🧊 firebomb polling places in a good number of key districts run by D govs and boards of elections, and have R govs in states like Texas and other refuse to certify contests won by D’s b/c “fraud”. Could that be enough to effectively prevent D’s from taking control?

Agreed. It often seems that every significant decision since Bush v. Gore is pushing us closer to that outcome.

I’m not saying I disagree with you, but doesn’t this seem like a big step towards secession and/or a civil war? Polarizing states like this sounds bad, although I agree not doing so would be like fighting with two hands tied behind our backs

YES!! For this reason, as well as every single scene and every single character and attitude being so true-to-life 80’s NYC, makes this movie the quintessential NY movie. Another reason why the modern remakes/sequels flop so hard is that that same NYC no longer exists

That’s what makes his character so great! The nonchalance with sneaky charm, warmth and genuine smarts under the surface. He’s not hiding who he is in any scene
