I’m sure you’re not wrong, but funny thing is I always felt like Kane’s rep was based on technical merit not emotional resonance. It’s literally possible this is the first time I’ve ever seen somebody this passionate about the characters in the flick.

And honestly, having looked back at the thread, I can see how. In the same vein, the fact that I’ve found myself several times with no choice other than to walk away from the sunk cost fallacy on friendships with people who were determined to go darkside is no doubt why I’m Jed-friendly.

It’s wild, I always saw it the other way: that Leland was a decent dude who tried to stick with Charles up until it was clear Kane was a megalomaniac, at which point after a few too many stiff drinks he spoke truth to power (on paper), and then Kane brushed him off.
