What I can do is break the cycle. I can create safe spaces for people around me. I never thought I'd bare my soul like this, so thank you @yourhyacinthgirl.bsky.social for starting this trend. They show up in the large swaths of memory that I just don't have. They showed up in the way I coped through alcohol and drugs starting at 13 years old. And until about two years ago... Those scars were still gaping wounds. I came to peace that this happened to me and that I can't change a thing.

I was also SA'd from age 10 until I could defend myself at age 15, by my brother. These scars don't show up on my skin, they show up as my wariness of men taller than me. They show up as my inability to be in a room alone with another man without a clear escape path.
