I just finished this 36”x48” commission. This was a challenge for me! He likes the forest, she likes the ocean, no reference photo so I had to make it up! I love to work that way but it’s hard to do for a client and keep it loose. They love my work though so I had freedom to be creative!

This one was inspired by one of my favorite places: Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand.. I’m thinking of beautiful warm places right now, while we freeze up here in the Pacific Northwest..

I think I’m done with this reworking of a painting I did in 2001, which sold to a friend of mine back then who recently passed away. In order to live with this one coming back to me, I needed to lift it out of its darkness. Lots of personal symbolism in this piece.

My studio-mate helped me choose the paintings I would hang at Scott Milo in Anacortes. This one is one of the more strange of those choices but deserves a closer look at the details. You can see for yourself if you go there! Show ends February 1st. Tuesday-Saturday 11-5. 420 Commercial Ave.
