any indie game that could get enough attention to qualify for an award would necessitate some privilege in production from 10mil to generational or invested wealth that allows for development time. there can never be total purity in a "genre" predicated on economic (and often moral) purity.

another clair obscure thought: re the whole indie game thing of it all: this was always going to be the issue with the advent and rise of "indie" games. they are almost as impossible to define as "jrpg."
