they never existed, not even internally. PSP devkits included a DVD drive and games were burned to DVD to approximate loading/seek times and test read error handling. Towards the end of a game's production Sony would press test UMDs so it could be tested on production hardware.

honestly it's like a weird version of Rayman 2 with the progression system of Rayman 1, internally one of the items (can't remember which) are even named "tings" and footage from early versions of the game shows pretty much the exact health HUD from Rayman 1

always used to mute the game as a kid when this music played when my mum was around for fear she'd ban the game or something

alternatively we as a society could realize that fiction is about playing with dolls and that horrible things happening to them doesn't matter because it's all toys.

but that seems more complicated than just bringing back big box PC games and publishing books alongside them
