I have a book purchasing “problem,” and sometimes even read said books.
I have wiener dogs that sometimes believe they are parrots.
I work in tech, focusing on security.
I am soooo jealous. Looking forward to this!

Read you as an author, and every fourth BlueSky post was from you early on, so it made sense. The similar profile picture selection is just a bonus!

To be fair, my main takeaway and mind blowing experience when I was 10 was the concept of folding.

It was a great book when I read it when I was 10. It introduced me to many of the concepts around sci-fi from the 1960s. This lead me to later dive into Heinlein, Asimov, and Clarke. I believe that, in general, those books through today’s lens do not hold up stylistically.

Please, please, please follow everyone on my follow list. They are all writers and will lead you to the joy I have found here. I’m not saying everyone will be a writer of something you love, but definitely an avenue to that.

Add @garywhitta.bsky.social to this list, and I feel you have about 60% of the Bluesky experience covered. (And 90% of my personal experience!)

My wife went from having a fairly unique last name to becoming a Wilson. She has not recovered from the shock. Strangely, she did not update her email….

I remember reading Neverwhere in ‘97 because a friend loved it. I knew the comics Neil had written, but this all changed things to a new level for me.

Maybe not so strangely, but I found you through Wil Wheaton and Audible recommendations. After that first experience, I dove into your catalogue and have recommended the reading to all my friends.
