Shitbags like Homan are the reason we have due process and rely on the courts to make these determinations. This country was founded on that principle, but this Administration wants to do away with foundational principles to allow for a king-like executive branch.

Congress will need to take FEMA out of Homeland Security and make it an independent agency, like the Federal Reserve and NLRB. I’m sure there is sufficient bipartisan support in Congress to do this, since every area of the country could be hit with an emergency at some point.

I think there would be a major uprising on the Federal bench if they try to overturn precedent upholding the 14th amendment’s right to citizenship to those born here.
