Thornberry praised the original appointment of Mandelson? Unless she was being sarcastic, of course ..

No corruption with SNP then? I'm sure I remember there being a police investigation...

Right.

Never heard of him...

The list could come out of all those who praised appointing Mandy at the time as a political masterstroke.

I have no idea who Al Carns is. In fact I thought this said 'AI'. Brilliant idea to make ChatGPT PM. The answers at PMQ would be no different from currently. Lack of policy, low key explanation - perfect!

Which is a shame given it is one of their more sensible policies. Suggesting the public fail to understand tax constraints on spending. As we know.

I've also seen the reverse. One man persistently interrupted a woman speaker at a NBER seminar. When it was his turn to present, the whole seminar, men& women alike, attacked his paper throughout. In all my experience, economics is not the worst discipline in this respect.

Call me an economist, but setting arbitrary GDP targets is a waste of space. We have costly (US-reliant) nuclear capability and 2 aircraft carriers. But, it appears, no ammunition. troops or troop carriers that work, little independent satellite tech etc. It's what we spend on that matters.

Same as 'we never tried a real Brexit'.

It would help, however, if LDs didn't join every bandwagon (WASPI, especially) & had sensible plans for funding their more sensible policies. There's room for a serious centre-left party. I think they are afraid of doing too well at next GE & aim broadly to hand on to their GE2024 seats.

See, for example, senior executives, regulators, committee members etc. it's the Blob! No, hang on....
February 3, 2026 at 8:10 AM
Lammy said it was a bad idea. Lammy got shifted. Starmer running out of road fast. Tragedy of such a missed opportunity after Cameron. Johnson. Truss etc.
February 3, 2026 at 8:04 AM
This doesn't include public lobbying by groups you support, presumably, George.
February 2, 2026 at 10:48 PM
Yes but Mandy said he's going to investigate himself thoroughly. Like Blackadder IV in the spy episode. So that's OK then.
February 2, 2026 at 3:43 PM
The latter sentence is more staggering than the former given the weakness of the WASPI case.
February 2, 2026 at 12:51 PM
Finally, commonsense caught up with Mr Bryant MP.

Baldrick scratches his name on a bullet. 'They say there's one with your name on it. And if I have it, no-one else can have one'. Discuss with reference to the Monte Carlo fallacy etc.
