Trying to put together this very simple budget for an application, and I'm finding it actively upsetting - a bad combination of trying to estimate costs for things I have little experience in, fear that the project is a nonsense, and concern that it doesn't require "enough" money to be worth it!

Student writing tools are now advertising an ability to "humanise" 'AI' generated essays; Microsoft is pushing ChatWord and ChatExcel; Sora will maximise the flood of terrible social media videos, all while ruining the planet. Such things do not have to be - I want to see where else we may go.

Boid Poems is a very speculative effort at realising another imaginary concerning language-driven, generative ‘AI’ - one where its already more-than-human qualities gesture explicitly towards those of the animal world, and so becoming far stranger, quietly unknowable, and resolutely 'unproductive'.
