The work of dealing with bad actors is always messy and difficult. Perhaps this is not a business you want to be in, but when any of us takes on the duty of moderation on a particular platform, he or she is now in the business of making moral judgments, however reluctantly.

The anger - which may manifest itself as harassment, yes - also arises from what we see as moderation criteria that are not equally applied.

Can you respect, though, that the call to ban said person is based on deeply felt moral conviction based on the harm he's caused? Anger can be corrosive, but it can also be appropriate when it is righteous.
