Today would've been my father's 106th birthday. I'm sure he would've been proud and delighted to see that his youngest granddaughter tried to reenact his most famous photo at the Acropolis earlier this year.

My great-uncle Hendrik Jakobs and his wife Marie saved the lives of several Jewish families in The Hague during WWII. Hendrik — a retired family doctor — was executed for his #antifa activities on 18 March 1945. He died for freedom, equality and democracy. Fascism was just a deadly obstacle.
