In addition to rum, moonshine and peanut butter whiskey, this raccoon at a Virginia liquor store also got into some vodka and eggnog. If you have not tried it, peanut butter whiskey “is excellent,” a PR manager for the store said. The raccoon apparently agreed. trib.al/XurZIQv

Criminally underdressed.
So. Last night I went to Windcrest (it’s part of San Antonio) because they have this decades-old tradition where people put up incredible holiday decorations and people can drive through the …

Lorraine Complains: What if buying a TV were like buying a car?
No, we don't need something bigger; no, we don't want financing; and, no, we don't want the two-year warranty either

Too many trans and 2-spirit folks are dying or going missing in their 20s. The pervasive hatred that we ‘politely’ ignore underwrites the violence & neglect that ends their lives too early. Promise yourself that 2026 will be the year that you intervene any time you hear or see transphobia.

Good point.

Thought experiment: If YOU were the victim of a cyberattack, could you tell Nova Scotia Power you're just going to estimate your power bill for the next 8 months and settle accounts, interest-free, after?
This is an incompetent company. They have a huge responsibility that they’re just dumping on citizens. Not one of their ‘customers’ would be excused by a corporation if they experienced major life disruptions and expected financial leniency.

Time for public ownership.

Basically living in a news desert here in New Brunswick. Our 3 major newspapers are owned by Postmedia. CTV Atlantic usually features bad takes by the Fraser Institute, Cdn Taxpayers Federation and CFIB. CBC NB is mostly human interest stories and not news.

Comforting to know there are poor countries that will still take our garbage (clothing, electronics, plastic, etc.) so we can keep this endless cycle of consumption going.

Thinking about visiting Florence? You won't want to miss the “duel venue” Fra Angelico art exhibition at the stunning Palazzo Strozzi and the historic Convent of San Marco—thru Jan 25.

Can’t make it? No problem. Here's my look at this pivotal artist...
Fra Angelico: The devil is in the details
See how artist Fra Angelico led a revolution in Italian painting that profoundly shifted the focus from religious dogma to human potential.

This fishing method of leaving nets in the ocean to check back on later should be stopped. Whales being entangled happens often here on the East coast as well.
