Time for another one of my old London paintings. I completed this one on a crowded street and the main focus is St Martin-in-the-Fields but I also enjoyed dashing in the passing people with a few pen strokes. This went into an exhibition and sold immediately.

A large black swallowtail butterfly drinks from orange milkweed flowers with her body positioned horizontally and her wings swept back. Her wings have a rusty iridescence in the sunlight that reveals the black tiger stripes. The top wings are bordered with white dashes.
