The Tories lost the last election because of corruption, infighting & inept economic management. Their criticism of Labour rings hollow. It will take 2 years until grown ups can start to assess this government. Until then Tories & their media allies should show a little more humility. 3/3

This governments real task: a new plan for economic growth with Europe. Progress on immigration control. Address the blood, Windrush, post office and Grenfell scandals paying out compensation. Recover funds lost to PPE fraud and address the mismanagement of public utilities. 2/3

The Issues: Let's be clear: the winter fuel allowance is worth less than a pound a day. Inheritance Tax affects less than 4% NI increases are being treated with the same hysteria that greeted the minimum wage. Polling 5 years away from another election is neither news nor significant. 1/3
