Seeing things from other people's perspectives isn't easy. Especially if their view of the world is distorted.
But knowing that their views are distorted might make it easier to accept their criticisms as their distortions, rather than your reality.

If someone says something calmly and professionally and it sends you into a two day depressive episode, it's worth asking the question:
What did them saying that mean about me and my world?
Maybe it doesn't mean anything about you. Maybe it's all about them and their world.
