Eric Idle @ericidle.bsky.social at @royalalberthall.bsky.social last night had us in stitches.
We found out that Two Ronnies turned down 'Nudge Nudge'.
Elvis loved it and addressed his friends as 'Squire'.

Eric is 82 now and said he's survived the four 'C's.

Michael Rother @_MichaelRother_ last night at @Islington_AH
delivered a wonderful journey into the world of Krautrock, with a set of Neu! and Harmonia gems. Such a beautiful cosmic ride to close your eyes and get lost in the music.

Cardiacs record signing at @banquetrecords.com yesterday for their bloody marvellous, typically bonkers new album, LSD (their first in over 25 years). I was so chuffed to be able to have a little chat with Jim Smith who kindly signed my copy of Is This The Life.

DJ Shadow @djshadow stole the show at Crystal Palace Bowl @CP_Bowl South Facing Festival @SouthFacingFest this evening. Unkle and Morcheeba also appeared, but the man his mum calls Joshua Paul Davis seemed to be having the most fun.

Melvins @melvinsdotcom with great value psychedelic power pop support from Redd Kross at @EBallroomCamden
last night. There were two drummers in the Melvins line-up, so maybe that's why my ears are still ringing today. #doubledrums

Ministry @ministryband.bsky.social‬ delivered a ferocious set at @electricbrixton this evening. It felt like a sonic assault on the senses and like a dog with a rag doll Al Jourgensen and his crew just wouldn't let go. Solid support from Light of Eternity feat Big Paul Ferguson from Killing Joke.

Last night I saw Wilko: Love and Death and Rock ‘n’ Roll @lsqtheatre
I never saw Dr. Feelgood, so it was a joy to witness Johnson Willis and Jon House recreate the band performing on stage. Plus, we had a fabulous bonus of Norman Watt-Roy and Wilko's son, Simon Johnson joining in at the end.

Budgie at @roughtrade1976.bsky.social East this evening, talking about his book - The Absence: Memoirs of a Banshee Drummer. Budgie spoke about the devastating early death of his mother, plus his time with Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Creatures and The Slits. I can't wait to get stuck into this one.

Smokey Robinson @smokeyrobinson.bsky.social at Hammersmith Odeon @EventimApollo last night. He may well be 85, but he still has the voice and the moves. Very special to hear the man perform I Second That Emotion, Get Ready, My Girl, Tears Of A Clown and Tracks of My Tears. Magical evening.

Kevin Rowland at @RoughTrade
West this evening, signing copies of his memoir 'Bless Me Father: A Life Story'. I didn't know about Kevin writing a letter of apology to David Bowie for his on-stage rant when Dexys Midnight Runners @DexysOfficial were supporting Bowie in 1983.

Escape-ism, featuring Ian Svenonius and Sandi Denton, tonight at Downstairs at The Dome, Tufnell Park. Ian is Mr Entertainment. A man who always has something to say and it's usually beautifully dry. A band to be treasured. I smiled throughout the whole set.

I wasn't sure if Beck @beck with the 80-piece BBC Concert Orchestra would work, but oh my, what a joyous thing it was. Last night at @royalalberthall.bsky.social produced a mesmerising performance by all. We were also treated to Scott Walker's It's Raining Today and Montague Terrace. Sheer bliss.

Glorious gig from Peter Perrett @thepeterperrett
at Islington Assembly Hall. Peter and his band were in excellent form. Loads from the very strong new album 'The Cleansing', plus plenty of The Only Ones nuggets. To hear Another Girl, Another Planet live was an incredibly special moment.

I was scared out of my wits watching The Innocents (1961) @BFI last night.
Incredible performances from Deborah Kerr, Pamela Franklin and Martin Stephens.
Seeing it on the big screen elevated every slight noise and movemnent.
One of the most spine-chilling films I've ever seen.

Tonight's feature - Wild at Heart (1990). David Lynch's follow up to Blue Velvet. So many wonderful characters, killer lines, warped cameos, incredible soundtrack and The Wizard of Oz references.
'If you are truly wild at heart, you will fight for your dreams.'

Tonight's feature - Blue Velvet (1986).
I just had to revisit the wonderfully strange and mysterious world of David Lynch on this very sad day. One of the many glorious love letters that he gave us. Still astonishingly good and incredibly moving. #RIPDavidLynch
Now it's dark.

Such awful news.

David Lynch has died.

Eraserhead
The Elephant Man
Blue Velvet
Wild at Heart
Lost Highway
The Straight Story
Mulholland Drive

Each one an absolute masterpiece.

RIP.

Tonight's feature - Trust (1990). Hal Hartley's direction is not for everyone. Incredibly sharp, direct script and simple but very effective camera work. I can't help getting drawn into his web. It blows me away every time. Adrienne Shelly & Martin Donovan are perfect for the job.

Terrific set from TV Smith at The 100 Club, Resolution Punk Festival last night. Such a passionate performer and great lyricist. He always gives his all. Loads of The Adverts gems fired out towards the end. Those songs still sounds incredibly exciting.
