Not zero targets should be a responsibility for all levels of government. Sustainability can't just be the objective of national governments. As the green slogan goes, think globally, act locally.

We have had years of austerity policies and Brexit that has wrecked our economy and public services. Our high streets are like ghost towns in many places and communities are seriously lacking investment and opportunities. It's part of what's fuelling the rise of Farage/Reform here.

We haven't reached the worst yet, but I wouldn't call things here positive. Brexit has been a political and economic disaster that has only empowered the far-right, Farage, and spread hate, especially on immigration.

I am hopeful the Greens will help, and I wish Corbyn's party well, but it's bad.

It might be relevant to the extent that Polanski is talking about dealing with the far-right in the UK, as Nigel Farage’s Reform party is very much into copying Trump.

I can only sympathise re: the state of healthcare and democracy in the US. If Farage wins here, we'll get the same kind of thing!

As the world moves forwards and embraces renewable energy,

At Conference, the Tories plot to drag us back — abolishing the Climate Change Act and ‘maximising extraction’ of North Sea oil and gas.
Graphic featuring a close-up wind turbine over farmland under a cloudy sky. Headline reads: “THE WORLD MOVES FORWARD WITH RENEWABLES AS TORIES LOOK BACK.” Below is a quote from Green MP Carla Denyer: “The news that renewable energy overtook coal as the world’s leading source of electricity shows our world is moving in a cleaner, greener, healthier direction, but the Tories are plotting how they can block both people and the planet from benefitting from this transition.” Bottom shows Carla Denyer’s headsh
