I am never afraid of the word "no". If I want something/someone, I ask for it. I make my intentions known and if it's not reciprocated, no problem, no worries. Want to play a board game instead?

That being said I absolutely shower my prince with outward displays of emotion as often as possible. I kinda took all that and applied it to the way I express emotion too. If I like you, you'll know it. If I don't you'll know it. I can't "beat around the bush".

Likely because our friendships are built on the fundamental value of equality, which is very important in family, friendships, and society. If you are there, they want you there because if they did not want you there, you would absolutely know. Finnish directness and stoicism kinda go hand in hand.

The sense of community is deep loyalty and a respect for personal space / quiet companionship. We are brought up with strong social bonds usually built on shared experiences and trust. A foundation of trust, sincerity, and loyalty rather than on constant, outward displays of emotion.
