Although I have started building something as well. Being fractional means I work the hours I bill unlike a FT CTO who tends to work overtime on a base salary. I now have found time to take on personal projects.

It was more out of circumstance that it started. I had a successful exit and while thinking about what was next I had a few contract opportunities present themselves. I enjoy functioning in an advisory role so the fractional route works well for me and my clients right now.
