This game has so much potential, but it’s been moving at a glacial and awkward pace.

Quite a bit done now. This video has been completely redone since I first began working on it (new script, new footage, new project). I’ve been at the new video for a total of 15-20 hours (kinda just guessing), and still have another few hours of work left. But it’s safe to say - it’s coming soon.

Quick update. The first five minutes have taken me around four or five hours to complete… and I’ve got A LOT more to go. Oh dear. (Yes, I’m familiar with how long not lazily editing video takes)

Ads in things I already purchased crosses a major red line for me. It’s why I won’t use Windows, and keep my smart TV and Xbox offline. If I bought some device that doesn’t work offline because it needs to show me ads? It goes back to the store.

Wouldn’t surprise me. Mine’s pretty slow to begin with, and they probably just get bogged down with all the stuff that collects on them like old Windows used to, combined with asinine SoCs that are underpowered to begin with. Needless to say, I’m not a fan of smart TVs.

I don’t use the smart functions on mine, but the TV fully shuts down after a certain period of no use, meaning when I do use it, it has to go through a boot sequence. It also has flaky HDMI ports and sometimes blanks during a game, but then again I didn’t want to spend $1,000+ on a TV.

Literally my situation in Canada. I could not buy a “dumb TV”. I had no choice but to get a smart one. I never use its smart capabilities, and it stays offline. It made me mad. I hate that TV (though mostly for other reasons than it’s a smart TV), but it’s not the consumer deciding these things.

To sell more products and collect user data, is my guess. Some of it is neat and helpful, but the pessimist in me says it’s not for our benefit.

I wish more people adhered to this line of thought. I don’t think most people want these things to be Internet-connected, the company decided that for them (for not-good reasons). It’s just that people will buy these things because they don’t see past the marketing fluff the way people like us do.

That Windows XP installation must be baffled to see 2TB of storage!
