Antidepressants (ADs) increase the risk for insomnia in children and adolescents.
Given the underwhelming efficacy of ADs especially in this age-group, the harm-benefit ratio is problematic for too many. And insomnia ist just one adverse event of ADs

Excellent article pointing out the total lack of evidence for promethazine for insomnia - use for this indication is widespread in NHS mental health services, inc. young people.
