OG technologist from 70s. I post projects and links to cool things done by myself and my friends. Makerspace advocate and co-op believer. I've worked for every big tech company yet nobody knows me. A maker and artist.

We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope. - MLK, Memphis 1968

Doubly relevant on this day.

I am always fascinated that Democrats obey in advance while Republicans don't obey until forced to obey and resist even when forced and continue resisting after paying the penalty for not obeying. You cannot have useful government under this type of asymmetrical disobedience of the rule of law.

Modified my ClockworkPi uConsole to have a transparent front and back. The cooling solution was part of the original aluminum back so I had to fabricate a copper heat sink for the rear. It performs slightly better than the original cooling solution under load.

Tweaking and hacking my uConsole this weekend. RTL-SDR is working, emulation is up, Pico8 is installed. Antenna mods are all mostly done. Benchmarking plastic vs Aluminum casing materials for heat impact.

The last problem in building a completely 3D printed Ukulele was solving the tuning peg deformation. The ASA part (left) would deform over time making tuning difficult. I switched some pegs to HP® MJF Nylon PA12 (MJF) parts (right) and you can see the deformation did not occur.

Makerspaces lead you into some weird paths. I started out making robots and working on small electronics, moved on to building drones and video game consoles, learned to build guitars and just finished my second set of ukuleles. What a great place to learn new things.

My wife has been battling Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia this year. Her final treatment is next Mon & Tues and will have a 1-5 year break before treatment again. Being a maker, I commemorated the event by building a guitar with the color of her cancer ribbon.

I don't have a lot in common with squirrels but there are certain things I am sure we agree on.

Final in the series, these four on this thought: "“A still more glorious dawn awaits. Not a sunrise, but a galaxy rise. A morning filled with 400 billion suns. The rising of the milky way.” ― Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Setup several longer running prompts this week and let them spin through a few hundred iterations so I can select my useful favorites. Some selection in the next few posts.

More "misery loves company" but the prompts are unhinged and too long for the alt text here.
