A rare Scottish tune from me. John Riddell was a blind fiddler from Ayr, and this jig was first published in 1776.
I first heard it in a recording by the Northumbrian musicians Joe Hutton, Willy Taylor, and Will Atkinson in the 1980s.

Down The Road

The Gus Elen music hall song, as recorded in polka form by Flowers & Frolics in 1977.
Quintessentially English, specifically Esturian, and one of my favourites.

A fine English jig, randomly remembered during Sunday morning fiddle practise.

An autobiographical polka in D, which I wrote in 1997. This, professionally recorded and suitably overdubbed, will be the title track of my forthcoming EP, out in September. Your support, via my PayPal, would be appreciated.

A quick demo of my cheap-as-chips Gear4Music viola, improved with Dominant strings and an Aubert bridge. It's tuned to DGDA.

The Diggers, by Paul James of Blowzabella, recorded with his permission. One for fellow English Civil War nerds, though bits of the tune remind me of the Irish jig, The Cliffs of Moher. Enjoy.
