After a solid week in the gym, it felt great to be back in the Wichita Mountains. Did my best yo-yo impression—several trips up and down Elk Mountain with 50 lbs in the pack. 8.5 miles, 1,803 feet of gain, and feeling stronger every week. Thanks for keeping me accountable!

After a week of lousy weather, I’m back at it and realized—I’m 5 months out from my Gannett Peak climb! Feeling on track and ready. Even better? The weather’s finally looking good, so I can start getting some bike rides in. Can’t wait to hit the road!

Short on time but still got a solid session in at Mt. Scott Saturday—took the boulder field route because trails are overrated. Foggy, wet, and a little sketchy, but after 1h 44m, I hit the summit. A chill 3-mile road walk back down. Not the longest session, but still a win.

Three laps up Elk Mountain. 50-pound pack. 1,700 feet of elevation gain. 7 miles total. And somehow, the hardest part wasn’t the climb—it was realizing mid-gulp that my water bottle had been brewing some sort of unholy science experiment. The hike itself? Amazing!

I've been training for a few months now and am happy to announce that I am going back to Gannett Peak in July of this year. I'll be posting about my plans and my progress as the climb approaches. I hope you'll follow and support me as I work toward this goal!
