Remember this being fun, I’m probably overdue for a rewatch

It’s funny because the series figured out in its first season that you could make more Star Wars adventures in the universe without tying it into the greater chronology… and then backtracked on it almost immediately.

The new SUPERMAN does this well. Sure, there’s some setup for the future , but it’s self contained enough that you feel you’ve gotten a whole story. And the “more to come” is positioned as more time with characters you like, rather than continuing an incomplete story.

They way forward for these MCU movies is to position them again as something you go to see in a theatre once a year, can follow along easily enough without doing any homework, and don’t have to think about at all until the next one comes out.
